What have you learned about yourself as a leader? Specifically, what values guide your actions, and how have you worked to act in congruence with those values?

 

Grade Scale:

1 Point Grade

Applicant articulates, in general terms, that they ‘have gotten to know my strengths and weaknesses and have worked to improve them’

2 Point Grade

Applicant articulates some understanding of their values, suggests (without details) some general ways in which they have improved as a leader or try to do things better

3 Point Grade

Applicant articulates an understanding of their values, strengths and weaknesses; articulates that they have learned from their experiences; and articulates specific behaviors or skills they try to do or do better

Question 2: 

Describe how you have collaborated with others to achieve common goals? (How have you empowered and motivated others, resolved conflict, partnered with other leaders and organizations, etc.?)

Grade Scale:

1 Point Grade

Applicant articulates, in general terms, that they ‘worked with other groups or other individuals on projects that the groups had in common.’

2 Point Grade

Applicant articulates organizations and individuals with whom they have collaborated; but is perhaps not as articulate about their common goals and/or ways in which they empowered others.

3 Point Grade

Applicant articulates specific organizations and individuals with whom they have collaborated; articulates the common goals they were working towards; articulates ways they have empowered and/or inspired others – not the same as delegating.

Question 3: 

How has your leadership and engagement led to positive change for your organization (or the members of the group) and/or the larger community?

Grade Scale

1 Point Grade

Applicant articulates, in general terms that ‘our members have improved’ or that ‘we have gotten better as an organization,’ ‘we get along better,’  

2 Point Grade

Applicant articulates ways in which they or their organizations have improved, but perhaps is not articulate in ways in which they have impacted the larger community. Articulates an impact on the larger community, but does not articulate how they or their organization’s members have changed.

3 Point Grade

Applicant articulates and provides specific ways in which they or their organizations have improved, have impacted others to create positive change.
